Magnificent reclaimed antique 19th century solid oak rustic hand hewn barn beam floating shelf fireplace mantel mantle .Recently acquired a large lot of beams from a descendant of the original builder of the barn this came from .It was from a dairy farm barn in ohio built in 1880.It was disassembled in the 1950's and the beams have been in dry storage since. It has been thoroughly cleaned and lightly sanded to remove dust debris and loose pieces and sealed with several coats of satin polyurethane to permanently preserve it's rustic charm . Finished on all 4 sides so you can choose which side faces out.I have had many requests for thinner less imposing beams so I decided to cut larger beams in half so you have the hand hewn finish on 3 sides and lighter golden oak tone on 1 side with some quarter sawn oak affects as well adding to a very unique overall appearance. It is 52 inches long by 7 inches by 4 inches,as it is hand hewn there are variations in size along the length.Perfect for adding a rustic touch to your fireplace or as a unique standout accent shelf anywhere in your home. Great piece of early primitive americana .No fastening hardware is included you are getting just the beam as shown .I have included a link below photos to a instruction page for various installation techniques .Thank you for stopping by our studio :-)
